Punk Forever Will Always Be Punk Forever.
Gerrion Jones (Wacky) was born in 1963 in Merthyr Tydfil. He lived on the
Gurnos Estate for over 25 years and went to Pen-y-Dre High School and
Merthyr Tydfil College.
Gerrion has travelled the world and worked in many different jobs from cook
and motorway maintenance to roadie, sound engineer and DJ. He worked at
the Hoover factory for 12 years, where he spent two years as shop steward.
One of his great loves is scooters, especially Vespas, which he custom builds.
Gerrion initially had the idea for Punk Forever as a 3 day exhibition to be held at Merthyr Tydfil College. It included many pieces of subversive and destructive art as well as film footage about the evolution of punk. The exhibition was extended from the original 3 days to 6 weeks; during this time it attracted over 1500 visitors.
Gerrion has been involved with the punk scene since 1976. He is the collector and curator of the exhibition and by showing all aspects of punk through posters, artwork, film and poetry, Gerrion hopes to share his experiences and insight with others.
